Greetings from beautiful Whistler BC, here is your Whistler market update!

Notable stats info:

  • June 2012 had a lower sales dollar amount than June 2011 and 2010, but the actual number of sales was about equal to June 2011 and 2010.
  • We saw a big increase in Phase 1 condo sales in June 2012 compared to 2011 and 2010.  Chalets and townhomes were relatively the same.
  • Cumulative sales:  So far 2012 has more sales than this time 2011, 2010, and especially 2009.
  • We currently have the lowest # of listings in the past 5 years.
  • Higher sales volume….lower amount of listings….interesting.

It feels like the market is heating up lately, pretty much all of my listings have sold or have accepted offers.  This is because they were priced correctly, marketed effectively, and it’s good timing to sell in this market.

The FEATURED SALE is 2269 Brandywine Way (www.2269brandywine.com).  This home was previously listed at $1.1M with another agent for 6 months with no offers.  I took the listing, lowered the price to $1,030,000, got professional photos and video, marketed it like crazy, and within 1 month received 4 offers!  The 5th offer was from Mexican buyers, they offered on the property just from viewing the video on my website (www.whistler-luxuryhomes.com), subject to viewing the property.  They flew up just to view the home and fell in love with it, sold for $1M!
